New council homes in South Cambridgeshire

Some of the new homes will be available as affordable rent properties. Once they are complete, you will be able to register your interest in these homes via Home-Link.
The rest of the new homes will be available through a shared ownership scheme. Even before these homes are complete, they will be advertised privately.
All of our new homes are built to high specifications and are energy efficient, with double glazed windows. Some homes also have solar panels or are powered by air source heat pumps.
Potential tenants or buyers who have a local connection will be prioritised for all of our new build homes.
Homes currently being built

All Saints Gardens, Barrington
Working alongside Redrow Homes, we expect to complete on 13 affordable properties by end of Spring 2024. These properties are made up of:

- 2 houses with 2 bedrooms
Cottenham Grove, Cottenham
Our second development working alongside Redrow Homes, we expect to complete on 10 affordable properties by end of Spring 2024. These properties are made up of:

Northstowe, Phase 2B
Working with developers, Keepmoat, we were successful in our acquisition of 60 affordable rent properties. The scheme will be made up of:
- 11 apartments with 1 bedroom
- 25 apartments with 2 bedrooms
- 18 houses with 2 bedrooms
- 4 houses with 3 bedrooms
- 2 houses with 4 bedrooms
These new homes are expected to complete in phases between Spring 2024 and Winter 2026.
New Road, Over
Working alongside Hayfield Homes, we expect to complete on 18 affordable properties by early Summer 2024. These properties are made up of:

Rampton Road, Cottenham
Working with Tillia Homes, we have been successful in the acquisition of 56 affordable homes. This scheme is made up of 39 affordable rent properties consisting of:
- 12 apartments with 1 bedroom
- 21 houses with 2 bedrooms
- 4 houses with 3 bedrooms
- 2 houses with 4 bedrooms
The remaining 17 homes will be advertised through the shared ownership scheme, consisting of:
- 13 houses with 2 bedrooms
- 4 houses with 3 bedrooms
This scheme will complete these properties between Spring 2024 and Spring 2026.
Meadowcroft Way, Orwell
Working with Ermine Construction, we are developing this small Brownfield, South Cambridgeshire District Council owned, site to deliver:

Downing Gardens, Gamlingay
Working alongside Morris Homes, we expect to complete on 34 affordable properties by Winter of 2023. These properties are made up of:

Completed developments
Strawberry Farm, Great Abington
Working alongside David Reed Homes, we completed on 3 affordable properties February 2023. These properties were made up of:

For shared ownership
- 1 detached house with 3 bedrooms and a garage
All properties are now occupied.
The Hawthorns, Sawston
We completed all homes at this development in April 2023. The scheme was made up of 44 affordable rent and 19 shared ownership homes.
The affordable rent homes included:
- 20 apartments with 1 bedroom
- 21 apartments with 2 bedrooms
- 2 houses with 3 bedrooms
- 1 house with 4 bedroom
Through shared ownership there were:
- 4 apartments with 1 bedroom
- 11 apartments with 2 bedrooms

New Road, Melbourn
In November 2022 we completed on 8 Affordable Rent properties developed by Prime Crest Homes Ltd. The properties, consisting of:

Boxworth End, Swavesey
In September 2022 we completed on 12 Affordable properties developed by Matthew Homes. The properties consist of:

Our second development with Matthew Homes completed in October 2022. The properties consist of:

High Street, Meldreth
In November 2022, 4 affordable rent homes were completed in High Street, Meldreth by developer Enterprise. These were made up of:

- 2 semi-detached homes with 3 bedrooms

- 3 terraced homes with 2 bedrooms
All properties are now occupied.
The Birdlings, Toft
Over the course of the last 18 months, we worked with Beechwood Estates to provide 36 affordable homes. 11 shared ownership homes were completed (2 to 4 bedrooms) and were advertised through Domovo, all have now been sold. A further 25 homes were completed, with the last 2 homes handed over to us in October 2022, for affordable rent. This included:

- 5 houses with 2 bedrooms

Orchard Gardens, Melbourn
In early 2022, 9 affordable homes were completed. These consisted of:

Burlington Place, Foxton
In Autumn 2020, we have had 6 affordable rent homes tenanted:

This was alongside 3 shared ownership homes consisting of:
- 1 house with 2 bedrooms
- 2 houses with 3 bedrooms
All properties are now occupied.
Burton End, West Wickham
In Winter 2020, 3 affordable rent homes have been tenanted:
- 1 bungalow with 1 bedroom
- 1 bungalow with 2 bedrooms
- 1 house with 2 bedrooms
For shared ownership:
- 1 house with 3 bedrooms
All properties are now occupied.
Larkfield, Great Abington
In Summer 2020, 18 new homes were completed. These are a mixture of affordable rent and shared ownership. All are now occupied.
Pembrook Way, Teversham
In Winter 2020, 5 new affordable rent homes were completed, including:
- 2 maisonettes with 1 bedroom
- 2 houses with 2 bedrooms
- 1 bungalow with 1 bedroom
All properties are now occupied.
Hunters Close, Impington
In October 2021, we completed on 7 affordable rent homes consisting of:
- 6 flats with 1 bedroom
- 1 house with 3 bedrooms
This was alongside 3 shared ownership homes consisting of:
- 2 houses with 2 bedrooms
- 1 house with 3 bedrooms
All properties are now occupied.
Meridian Fields, Hardwick
Working with Hills Development, 25 new build affordable rent homes, ranging from one bed to 4 bed, have been completed through 2021 and all are now occupied. 12 shared ownership homes have also been completed, ranging from 2 to 3 bedrooms. All have now been sold.
Bartlow Road, Castle Camps
In September 2021, we completed on 4 new affordable homes consisting of 3 affordable rent and 1 shared ownership. All are now occupied.
