How to use a private window on your browser

All leading web browsers have a “private browsing” mode that, once enabled, stores nothing about your activity on your computer in that browsing window. This won’t stop online services from seeing what you get up to, but it won’t leave any traces of your activity on your computer (no history, web cache or anything else) and so it’s always a useful first step to take.

Internet Explorer: Go to Safety – Tools – “InPrivate Browsing”.

Firefox: Click the Menu button with three horizontal lines – “New Private Window”.

Chrome: Click the Menu button with three horizontal lines and select “New Incognito Window”.

Fire safety advice

Following an investigation it is believed that a fatal flat fire in Kings Hedges started accidentally, and the most probable cause was an electric bike that was charging.

We want to share some important safety advice from the fire service on how to safely charge electric bikes or scooters. All our council homes are provided with a smoke detector. Take a moment to test your smoke detectors today. If there are any issues contact us on 0800 805 1313

Delivery of the summer 2024 edition of South Cambs Magazine was delayed because of guidelines around Council publicity ahead of an election. However, the magazine had already been printed and that is why the closing date in the magazine is Friday 5 July. Please rest assured we are accepting entries into the competition until 5pm on Friday 2 August.
