Our Business Plan is guided by our vision which is:
Growing local businesses and economies
We will support businesses to create new jobs where people live and help the local economy recover from the pandemic.
Providing affordable housing for everyone
We will build vibrant communities where people have good access to facilities and transport so they can afford to lead a happy and healthy life.
Being green to our core
We will create a cleaner, greener and zero-carbon future for our communities.
A modern and caring Council
We will give our community high-quality services and strive to reduce costs. We will build on what we’re good at doing to generate our own income. We will make decisions in a transparent, open and inclusive way.
Like all public services, we face challenges with funding in uncertain times. That’s why we must use our resources effectively, like our land and property assets to support our Business Plan for the district.
Corporate Asset Plan
Our Corporate Asset Plan (CAP) is a key part of our Economic Growth Strategy to support our Business Plan. It outlines our objectives and action plans. It also helps us create new jobs in our district.
The CAP has 6 main goals to make sure the council manages its properties well:
- being a good landlord, managing buildings and lands effectively
- providing the right property, in the right place, at the right time for local people
- supporting local business needs and economic growth
- working with partners to save money and share spaces
- providing value for money with our services
- cut down our properties' green impact by investing in ways to reduce carbon emissions.
Find out more details in our Corporate Asset Plan document.
Productivity Plan
Our productivity plan sets out how we will:
- save money
- reduce waste
- transform service delivery
Its aim is to make sure we’re providing value for money for our residents.
